General
Is hiring a private investigator legal in Canada?
Yes, it is. We operate in accordance with applicable federal and provincial laws.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We are a licensed and insured private investigation agency, authorized to operate legally. We hold agency licences in Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, and British Columbia.
What do your services cost?
We offer pre-set packages for common case types. You will receive a written quote before any work begins. We do not add administrative “nickel-and-dime” fees for routine items such as local parking, standard communications, or basic report delivery. If a case requires billable third-party costs (for example, long-distance travel, specialized databases, process servers, or court filing fees), we will discuss and obtain your approval in advance.
How does the investigation process work?
- Contact us and tell us what you need. You can also select one of our packages.
- We ask a few intake questions to confirm scope and legality.
- You receive a written quote and service mandate.
- You sign electronically and submit the retainer/payment.
- We begin work and provide updates and reporting as agreed.

Can you guarantee results?
No. No legitimate investigation firm can guarantee a specific outcome. What we do guarantee is professional effort, lawful methods, and clear reporting based on what the investigation establishes. Please read our refund policy.
How often will I receive updates and reports?
It depends on the case. We typically provide periodic updates during active work and deliver a written report with supporting documentation at agreed milestones.
Can your evidence be used in court?
Our work is documented to support legal proceedings when needed (notes, continuity, timestamps, photo/video files).
What can you do?
We help clients confirm the truth, document critical facts, and get clear, court-ready reporting. Our private investigators handle a wide range of cases across Canada, including:
- Discreet surveillance (vehicle and foot) of a person of interest (POI)
- Mobile surveillance by car, on foot, and public transit without drawing attention
- High-quality photo and video evidence capture with detailed written reporting
- Establishing routines, timelines, frequent locations, meetings, and travel patterns
- Infidelity and relationship investigations with discreet documentation
- Background checks and due diligence on individuals, employees, tenants, and partners
- Skip tracing and locating services, including address and residency verification
- Witness location and discreet interviews to confirm facts and fill information gaps
- Workplace investigations: employee theft, time theft, policy breaches, and misconduct
- Integrity and internal investigations for businesses and organisations
- Open-source intelligence (OSINT) and database research to uncover hidden connections
- Social media and online activity research
- Finding and preserving available CCTV or security footage from businesses and third parties
- Stalking and harassment investigations, documentation, and counter-surveillance support
- TSCM bug sweeps for hidden cameras, microphones, and tracking devices in homes, offices, and vehicles
What can’t you do?
We do not offer illegal or privacy-violating services. That includes:
- Hacking or accessing private accounts (email, social media, iCloud, cloud storage)
- Intercepting or reading private communications (text messages, DMs, emails)
- Listening to or recording private phone calls
- Obtaining phone call logs or carrier records without proper authorization
- Installing spyware, keyloggers, or any covert monitoring software on someone’s device
- Accessing private banking information, credit card activity, or confidential financial transactions
- Pulling protected records that are not legally accessible (medical, tax, or similar restricted files)
- Selling “instant results” or guaranteed outcomes for any investigation
Can I pause or stop the investigation at any time?
Yes. You can pause or stop at any point by notifying your investigator. We will stop active work, summarise the status, and settle any remaining balance in accordance with our terms and refund policy.
Privacy and safety
Is my case confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is a core part of how we operate. Your case details, identity, and results are handled discreetly and shared only with the people who need to work on your file. Please read our privacy policy.
Can I stay anonymous while you investigate?
In many cases, yes. We can structure the process so your name stays out of field work and third-party conversations whenever possible. You stay in control of what gets disclosed.
Who will have access to my information and case details?
Only your assigned investigator and the minimum internal personnel required to support the work (billing, scheduling, or management oversight when needed). We do not run cases like a call centre.
Will the person I’m investigating find out?
Our approach is designed to stay discreet. We avoid unnecessary contact and minimize exposure. If a case requires direct contact with someone, we plan it carefully to protect you and the investigation.
How do you store reports, photos, and video evidence?
We keep case materials organised and controlled so they can be used when needed. You receive clear reporting, and we maintain supporting documentation tied to dates, times, and continuity.
Do you sign NDAs or confidentiality agreements?
Yes. If you need an NDA for a corporate matter or sensitive personal situation, tell us upfront, and we’ll handle it early in the process.
What should I do if I suspect I’m being followed or tracked right now?
If you feel in immediate danger, call 911. If it’s not an emergency, document what you’re seeing (times, locations, vehicle description), avoid confronting anyone, and contact us. If you suspect device tracking, we can advise next steps and, if relevant, schedule a technical sweep.
Surveillance, infidelity and family
I suspect my partner is cheating, but I don’t know what’s happening. How can you find out?
In many cases, the most reliable approach is discreet physical surveillance in public places to confirm routines, locations visited, and relevant contacts. We can document observations with professional photos and videos and summarise findings in a report.
Can you check the well-being of my child while with my ex?
Yes. We can document routines, supervision, pickups and drop-offs, and relevant behaviour patterns, then provide a clear report with supporting photos or videos when available.
How many hours of surveillance do I usually need?
There is no universal number. As a practical starting point, many cases need at least one or two focused surveillance blocks (often 4-6 hours each) scheduled around the highest-probability time windows. We recommend an initial plan based on your situation and budget, then adjust based on what we learn.
What should I provide before you begin?
Anything that helps identify the person and predict patterns: recent photos, vehicle description and plate (if known), home/work areas, routine, known associates, relevant dates/times, and any safety concerns. Better intake information usually reduces cost.
Can you track a vehicle?
Only when legally authorized. Vehicle tracking laws are fact-specific and often depend on ownership and consent. If tracking is not lawful in your situation, we use alternative methods.
Will I receive photos and video evidence?
Yes, when evidence can be captured without drawing attention. Photos and videos are organized and referenced in your report to support timelines and key observations.
Can you conduct surveillance at night or on weekends?
Yes. Surveillance is scheduled around the highest-probability time windows, including evenings, nights, and weekends when needed.
Can you document cohabitation or a second residence?
Yes. We can document patterns indicating where someone actually spends their time, including arrivals and departures, routines, and frequent overnight stays, and then summarise this in a clear report.
What if the person changes their routine or becomes cautious?
That happens. We adapt the plan, adjust timing, and use low-profile methods to stay effective while keeping the investigation discreet. When needed, we rotate investigators and vehicles to reduce exposure and maintain continuity.
Background checks and skip tracing
What information do you need for a background check?
At minimum: first and last name. Ideally: date of birth and city/province history. The more accurate the identifiers, the more precise the results.
What can a background check include?
It depends on the purpose and what is lawfully accessible. We will tell you exactly what we can and cannot provide in your case before you proceed.
I only have a name and an employer. Can you help locate the person?
Often, yes. Some cases can be resolved through lawful database work and open-source research. Others require field verification.
Can you find someone’s current address?
We may be able to identify the most recent known address records and, when necessary, confirm residency through field verification. Exact outcomes depend on the facts of the case.
Can you locate someone with limited information?
Often, yes. The more identifiers you have (full name, date of birth, past city, phone, email, and employer), the faster and more precise the search tends to be.
Can you verify someone’s employment or business activity?
Yes. We can confirm and document available indicators such as business presence, professional footprint, and activity patterns, and when needed, use field verification.
Can you confirm whether someone actually lives at an address?
Yes. We can perform residency verification and document findings based on observable, reportable indicators and field checks.
Workplace and corporate investigations
I suspect employee theft or misconduct. Can you verify it?
Yes. We can verify workplace theft and misconduct through discreet on-site deployment and covert observation, including undercover operatives when appropriate. We focus on identifying patterns, confirming the individuals involved, and documenting incidents with clear, actionable evidence you can use for internal action, HR, or legal follow-up.
Can you install cameras in my business to monitor employees?
We can advise on investigation strategy and, where appropriate, coordinate lawful surveillance support. Ongoing workplace monitoring has strict privacy requirements, so we confirm scope and compliance before proceeding.
Can you place an undercover operative in my business?
Yes, in appropriate cases. Undercover work can help confirm theft, policy breaches, internal leaks, or misconduct while identifying the individuals involved.
Can you investigate time theft or fake sick leave?
Yes. We document patterns and activity through discreet observation and reporting, focusing on clear, actionable evidence.
Can you investigate workers’ compensation or insurance fraud?
Yes. We can document behaviour and activities relevant to the claim and provide structured reporting suitable for follow-up.
How do you present findings for HR or legal follow-up?
We provide a clear timeline, incident summaries, supporting documentation (photos and videos when available), and a report that’s easy to hand to HR, management, or legal counsel.
Specialty services
Do you sweep for hidden cameras, microphones, or GPS devices?
Yes. We can perform technical counter-surveillance sweeps (TSCM) for homes, offices, and vehicles, using professional equipment and lawful methods. We will explain the scope and limitations before the work begins.
Can you investigate stalking or harassment?
Yes. We can help document patterns of behaviour, identify key facts, and support evidence collection where lawful, including counter-surveillance guidance and reporting for legal use.
Can you measure and document noise levels?
In specific situations, yes. We can measure and document noise levels using professional equipment and provide documentation suitable for follow-up with the appropriate authorities or legal counsel.
Can you sweep an Airbnb or hotel room for hidden cameras or microphones?
Yes. We can perform a sweep before or during occupancy and explain what is and is not detectable within the scope of the service.
Can you detect a GPS tracker on a vehicle?
Yes. We can inspect and test for common tracker placements and document findings, including recommended next steps.
Can you identify who is behind anonymous threats or harassment?
Sometimes. We can analyze message patterns, available metadata, and open-source signals to narrow down likely sources and preserve documentation for follow-up.
