Private Investigator - Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do you charge for your services?

The cost of any private investigation depends on your circumstances, your goal, and the information you can provide. Please contacts us to discuss the details. Unlike many other private investigation agencies in Montreal, Ottawa, or Toronto, we do not charge extra fees for mileage, parking, meals, internet, tolls, phone calls, etc.

I think my partner is cheating on me but I have no idea what exactly is going on. How can you find this out?

We can perform physical surveillance and check where and how the person spends their time. This allows us to check when and which places they visit, etc. Your private investigator can take high-resolution pictures and videos, which will be included in your report.

I know that my spouse is not faithful. How many hours are required to find out the truth?

When we deal with matrimonial infidelity, depending on the circumstances, at least 4-6 hours of physical surveillance are required. At the end of the process, we will provide you with photographic evidence that can be used in court (in case you find it necessary).

What information do I need to provide to the private investigator before he or she begins the investigation process?

We highly recommend you provide us with as much information as you can. You may think otherwise but every tiny piece of information can make a big difference and save you a considerable amount of time and money. Examples of useful information: IDs, photographs, video files, social media profiles, license plates, vehicle descriptions, etc.).

Can you guarantee results?

You should know that no private investigation company can guarantee positive results (regardless of the budget). We charge the client not for the guaranteed results, but for the professional work that is aimed at achieving the best possible results.

The client needs to understand that a so-called “negative” result is still a valid result. For example, if the client suspects that their partner is cheating on them but the comprehensive investigation that included physical surveillance demonstrates that the person in question had no interaction with any third party, this is still considered a result. It is possible that the person in question used to see someone in the past or will see someone in the future. It is also possible that virtual communication took place during the investigation process, but these possibilities remain beyond the investigation scope.

The rate of investigation success depends on the amount of time dedicated to the investigation process. At the same time, the amount of time we allocate to each investigation case strictly depends on the client’s budget. Therefore, the more time we allocate, the higher rate of success the client should expect. The client should always take this into consideration when planning their budget.

It is also important to understand that besides providing the client with high-quality work (which is our default approach to each and every private investigation case) and using all possible legal means to achieve the result the client expects, our goal is to make sure your budget is used in the most rational and efficient manner. We analyze the situation and we suggest both optimal and minimal budgets.

What information do I need to provide if I wish to get a complete background check of a person?

More information you provide, the better and faster results you may expect. The minimum information required is the first name and the last name of the person in question. Ideally, we also need a social insurance number of the person.
